Despite suffering a 2-1 loss to Zambia in their most recent COSAFA Cup tie, Comoros coach Mohamed Bouhari is confident his side can bounce back when they prepare to take on Malawi at the Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

After claiming a 3-0 win over Mauritius in their 2023 COSAFA Cup opener, Comoros will now head into their next encounter on the back of a 2-1 loss to Zambia.
With the game taking place at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday, goals by Frederick Mulambia and Albert Kangwanda were enough for Zambia to bag maximum points in Durban. As it stands, Comoros are three points behind Malawi in Group B, with their opponents occupying top spot in with six points.
Reflecting on their loss to Zambia, Comoros coach Mohamed Bouhari remained positive that his side can make it out of Group B.
“We know that we lost (against Zambia) but we still have a chance in the last game,” Bouhari said.
“Going into that game (against Malawi) we’ll give our best to stay in the tournament.
“We are in the most difficult group but that’s football. You can’t be respected in football if you don’t capitalise on what you have, I’m very proud of my team, I congratulate my team, I congratulate the staff, the players because we held Zambia while playing with a reduced number.
“We don’t regret the loss but we are capable of coming back in that third game and get the three points to end up with six.”
As leaders of Group B, Malawi boasts a 100 per cent win rate in the 2023 COSAFA Cup so far. After wins against Zambia and Seychelles, Malawi are just one win away from entering the next phase of the tournament.
