Conditions revealed for Joaquín Correa’s Marseille loan move to be made permanent
It is safe to say that Joaquín Correa (29) has not set La Provence alight since moving on loan from Inter Milan to Olympique de Marseille. The Argentine winger has struggled for game time at the club having become a forgotten man, only making one start in 2024 and still yet to provide either a goal or an assist for Les Phocéens .
Despite this, the Marseille president Pablo Longoria has confirmed in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport that there is a chance the loan could be made permanent. It seems a scenario neither club nor player would want, however, if Marseille qualify for the Champions League they will unwittingly trigger an obligation to purchase the winger. “
Currently seventh in the table, Marseille are mathematically unable to secure Champions League football through their domestic campaign. Yet, their success in the Europa League means that there is still a chance that they could qualify for next year’s elite competition. If, and only if, Marseille win the competition outright , they will secure passage into the Champions League.
