Conor McMenamin was gutted his daughter Daisy decided to pick pumpkins instead of watching her daddy score his first international goal.
The St Mirren winger picked up a memento of his own over the international break, netting against San Marino to break his duck for Northern Ireland.
And while his proud family were in the stands watching on, McMenamin revealed his seven-year-old daughter had chosen to visit a pumpkin patch rather than travel to Windsor Park to watch him play for his country.
He told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “It was good to score and it was a great day for my family. It’s something I’ll always remember and something no one can take away from me.
“When the ball hit the net it was relief, excitement, everything. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, so to do it and have that feeling was unbelievable.
“I don’t even know how I celebrated or how it happened. When the ball hit the net, it was probably more relief than anything. When it fell to me I knew I should probably score so I just didn’t want to miss it.
“My mum and dad and my sisters were there. My wee girl actually went to a pumpkin patch instead. I was disappointed by that! I rang her after the game and was going mad at her.
“Her mum said she can go where she wants, and she rang me and said she’d rather go to the pumpkin patch. She has no real interest in football to be honest. She went to games back home or I’d bring her over here the odd time.
“You get about ten minutes out of her then she loses interest! But to have everyone else there was great. My mum and dad have always been there for me and it was great to have them there.”
