Adam Lecky believes Crusaders are primed to perform against Linfield
Crusaders striker Adam Lecky believes his side will ask serious questions of title chasing Linfield tonight.
This is the Blues’ game in hand on second placed Larne and they can go four points clear of the Invermen with a victory in north Belfast.
The Crues have been less consistent than David Healy’s side this campaign but recent performances have improved and Philip Lowry’s return from injury is a huge lift.
While Stephen Baxter’s men are fighting to hold onto a top four place, Linfield are under pressure to reclaim the title and there is little room for complacency with Larne and Cliftonville also on the charge.
Former Ballymena United frontman Lecky feels the Crues can rediscover some of the old Seaview magic to stun the leaders.
“Linfield is a big game, they have been coming thick and fast and boys will need to recover and be fit for a huge test,” said Lecky.
“It’s a midweek game under the lights and one to look forward to. We will give it a go with a nothing-to-lose approach.
“It’s a competitive League and you can see mini leagues taking shape but we are just trying to pick up points and stay in touch at the right end of the table.
“It’s difficult but we can only look after ourselves and keep producing strong performances.”
After a 3-1 win at Glenavon, Crusaders felt they were unfortunate to lose against Cliftonville on Boxing Day but they tasted victory again on Saturday against Carrick Rangers at Seaview.
The Crues have a tasty looking January with two League battles with Linfield as well as Premiership clashes against Larne and Glentoran. They also begin their Irish Cup defence at home to managerless Ards on Saturday.
