Manchester United are leading the race to sign Denise O'Sullivan, according to reports in England.
The Cork native will be out of contract with her current club North Carolina Courage when the National Women’s Soccer League season ends in November and it is understood that she is considering a move closer to home.
O'Sullivan, who supports Manchester United, would be available on a free transfer but according to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are expected to make a bid for the Republic of Ireland international this summer.
The midfielder has already played in the Women's Super League, joining Brighton and Hove Albion on loan in 2020 during the off-season in America, and she previously refused to rule out a return to English football one day.
United are currently fifth in the WSL and they will be looking to bolster their options in the centre of the pitch in order to close the gap on Liverpool, but mainly title-chasing Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City next season.
