Dominik Szoboszlai has named Trent Alexander-Arnold as his closest friend at Liverpool, sending Jurgen Klopp's replacement a clear message. With the Reds boss set to leave at the end of the season, his successor will be tasked with the difficult job of implementing their own ideas.
After nine years at Anfield, Klopp's philosophy has been etched into walls at the AXA Training Centre. And, whether it's Ruben Amorim, Julian Nagelsmann or even Ange Postecoglou that takes over, the next Liverpool manager will have to rebuild the squad without straying far from the club's identity.
Klopp's heir will also have big shoes to fill and they must swiftly win over the dressing room. One way to do that will be by uniting the leaders and identifying the pre-existing relationships, on and off the pitch.

If the next Reds head coach can build a starting line-up around Szoboszlai and Alexander-Arnold then they'll surely be onto a winner. In an interview with Stadium Astro, the Hungary international was asked whether he's closest with the right-back at Liverpool.
"Yeah, probably," Szoboszlai admitted. "I’m close with everyone but with Trent we are the same age, outside of football we do almost the same things, we hang out quite a bit and also on the pitch we understand each other well."
