Chelsea are pushing to sign Montpellier star Elye Wahi in the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old enjoyed a stellar season in France which has seen him become a heavily sought-after striker ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Wahi netted 19 league goals from 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last season which has alerted several clubs. Alongside the Blues, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have shown a strong interest with the latter proposing a swap deal which was turned down by Montpellier.

Bid rejected
Chelsea's verbal €25million (£21.4m) offer to sign Montpellier striker Elye Wahi has been rejected.
The offer has fallen below the French club's valuation with Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin giving a firm response to Midi Libre.
As quoted by Sport Witness, he acknowledged that the Blues had come forward for their star striker, and added: “But the amount offered didn’t meet our expectations.”
£21.4million verbal offer
Chelsea have put forward their first proposal to Montpellier in the hopes of reaching a transfer agreement for Elye Wahi.
According to French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter, via GFNF, the offer is worth €25million (£21.4million) plus potential bonuses.
