We still don’t know whether club captain Seamus Coleman, the Blues’ record Premier League appearance holder will be continuing next season but if not then surely – having proven his fitness by coming off the bench in Friday’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town – he should get the nod to start one last Goodison Park game at right-back, ahead of Ben Godfrey. The Yorkshireman could always be moved to his natural position at centre-back or even left-back in place of Ashley Young should Dyche be inclined while Michael Keane also offers an alternative to James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite in the heart of defence.
There is scope to mix things up in central midfield with Idrissa Gueye, James Garner and Abdoulaye Doucoure the incumbent trio but as we saw at Kenilworth Road, Amadou Onana and Andre Gomes, who both came on as substitutes early in the second half, provide alternatives.
