Hello and welcome to the ECHO's live coverage of Everton manager Sean Dyche's press conference to preview the Merseyside derby.
Everton head into the clash with Liverpool after a much-needed win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday, with goals from Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil powering the team to a 2-0 win.
The victory does give the Blues some breathing room in the battle to avoid the drop. They are now 16th and five points clear of Luton Town in 18th with a game in hand. Forest are four points behind Everton and have also played a game more.
Dyche and his players cannot afford to relax yet, although the victory has taken some of the pressure off the team heading into what is always a highly-charged fixture. Liverpool are still pushing for the Premier League title, but they've come up short at Goodison a number of times in recent years, with five of the six previous games ending up as draws.
While Evertonians have had some fun frustrating their rivals, they have not been able to celebrate a home derby win since 2010. It is a big ask, but Wednesday would be the perfect time to put an end to that drought and effectively secure Premier League football for next season.
Chris Beesley will be in attendance to speak to the Everton manager and provide live updates on what Dyche has to say.
