Everton have beaten Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Goodison Park.
Goals from Dwight McNeil and Idrissa Gueye at Goodison Park in a match that could have a huge say on the Premier League relegation battle.
Gueye put Everton ahead in the first half against Nottingham Forest. The Senegalese midfielder set himself up before sweeping a strike into the far left corner of the Forest goal. McNeil then scored another long range effort to double their lead in the second half.
Much of the commentary has focused on the decision by Anthony Taylor not to award Forest three penalties - the most controversial of which was an appeal by Forest after Ashley Young blocked a Hudson-Odoi cross, which the Forest player was adamant was a handball.
Everton and Nottingham Forest are both hovering above the relegation zone - and their fight for survival hasn't been helped by points deductions for breaches of Premier League financial rules.
Each side faces a nervous wait to see whether they are successful in appealing against those deductions.
Asked about the forward, the Everton boss said: "I think it's a knock. We had to be a little bit cautious but we're hopeful on that."
