Every word Chukwuemeka said on Pochettino, his Chelsea target and pre-season

Carney Chukwuemeka spoke to the media following Chelsea's draw with Borussia Dortmund and talked about the impact of Mauricio Pochettino on him and the rest of the team

How do you think pre-season has gone?

It's been a positive pre-season for us. Five games, unbeaten in all five, we're playing very well, playing good football and I feel we've taken on board very quickly what the gaffer wants us to do and how he wants us to play so it's been a positive pre-season.

Could you represent Nigeria?

I haven't really thought that far. At the minute I'm focused on England, obviously I've played for England at youth level, so we'll see what the future holds.

Impression of supporters?

They were amazing for us. They're like a 12th player for us on the pitch so just to hear their noise, to hear them chanting for us to keep pushing and working hard it helps a lot.

What is your personal target?

For me personally it's just to break into the starting team this season. Set myself a target to contribute more to goals and assists this season as well and just to help the team win games and hopefully win trophies. The main aim is to break into the starting XI.

Has Mauricio given you an idea of how many opportunities you will get and is it in that No. 10 role?

He said literally that if we're working hard, we're showing that we're ready to play that he will put us in. It's down to us at the end of the day. He said to me he knows I can play 10 or 8 so it just depends, it may vary.

It's a good feeling, it gives me extra confidence. Definitely feel like I've built a good relationship with Nicolas and Christo, with Raz. It's all connecting well on the pitch today but obviously unlucky with a few chances, I'm sure it will definitely come. We've built good
