Google’s new Pixel 8 phone is set to be released today.
Following the launch of iPhone 15 earlier this month, the new smartphone is expected to be packed with new features. It is even rumoured that a gadget will be included for free with every purchase of the phone.

When will the Pixel 8 be released?
The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to be launched today (October 4) at Google’s Pixel Hardware event. Those wanting to get their hands on one should be able to at some point this month.
What new features will the Pixel 8 have?
New features have yet to be confirmed, although there are several rumours about what can expected. Going by a teaser trailer released by Google, the design doesn’t seem to be drastically different to the previous model.
According to 91mobiles, the phone will come with a Pixel Watch Two for free. This new watch is rumoured to come equipped with a 24-hour battery life, as well as stress and skin temperature detection.
The Pixel 8 is could also be equipped with a temperature sensor, with a leaked video showing an infrared camera sensor used to measure the temperature of objects. The smartphone could utilise a flat display too, rather than the gently curved edges found on the Pixel 7 Pro.
How much will the Pixel 8 coast?
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launched at £529 and £849 respectively. No prices for this model have been confirmed, although with inflation it can be expected that there will be a price increase this time around.
