Canada U20 international Kevaughn Tavernier (18) is currently on trial at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, Get French Football News understands.
Tavernier, who has two goals in two appearances for the Canada U20 side, has been training with the Principality club’s Groupe Élite, the equivalent of their reserve side. Whilst with the club, Tavernier, who also competed for Forge FC in the recent CONCACAF Champions Cup, netting one goal in his two appearances, has played two games so far for Les Monégasques.
Against Manchester United’s academy last Saturday, the Canadian winger started and featured for around an hour before being replaced by Sandro Bertolucci in the 2-1 defeat. Tavernier then came on at half-time against RC Strasbourg Alsace’s academy in mid-week, immediately making an impact and netting less than a minute after coming on. Les Monégasques went on to beat Les Alsaciens 3-0 in a match held at Monaco’s performance centre in La Turbie.
