FA make investigation decision following Erling Haaland and Walker argument with Arsenal coach
The FA have decided not to take any action regarding the post-match incident involving Manchester City duo Kyle Walker and Erling Haaland, as well as Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover. Mikel Arteta's side defeated City 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in what was a relatively uneventful game at the Emirates Stadium.
Neither team were able to fashion many meaningful opportunities before Gabriel Martinelli fired in the winner in the 86th minute, with his shot taking a heavy deflection off City defender Nathan Ake. After the full-time whistle, tempers flared on the touchline, with footage showing a dispute and pushing between Haaland, Walker and Jover, who was previously employed by the Citizens before joining the Gunners two years ago.
But the FA have decided that the incident doesn't need investigating any further, as per Simon Stone of the BBC. City manager Pep Guardiola remained coy when asked about the coming together.
Regarding the clash, Guardiola said: «I know what happened but I won't say anything. „They [Arsenal] know it.“
The result leaves Arsenal two points above Guardiola's side in the current Premier League standings. Both the Gunners and their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur have accrued 20 points from their opening eight fixtures, with the latter leading on goals scored given they share the same goal difference.
