A former Arsenal academy star is set to retire from football at just 32, as he sets on a surprising brand new career outside of being a footballer.
The ex-Gunners midfielder began his career in North London, where he was a highly-rated youngster and graduated to the first team under Arsene Wenger.
After making eight appearances for Arsenal, he went on to represent Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Bristol City, as well as earn 17 England U21 Caps.
He was last seen as part of the Luton squad that won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in June, but upon the expiry of his contract at Kenilworth Road he has decided to take his career down a different path - a garden path in fact.
The 32-year-old is heading to Monaco to work on the French side's pitches, after coming up with a new formula for fertiliser.
Speaking to talkSPORT, former Gunners youngster Henri Lansbury revealed his plans and his excitement at taking the business, Grass Gains, across Europe.
'It came about during the first lockdown when I was stuck at home and got into gardening,' Lansbury explained.
'I started to spray my weeds with toxic stuff and put toxic fertiliser down and my missus wasn't too happy about the kids running on the grass straight after.
I was trying to usher them off and she said 'why can't they just make an organic fertiliser?'
I put my head together with my mate and me and the boys have cracked on and taken it to another level.'
Having already worked on grounds in the UK, Grass Gains is now heading for the Champions League and Monaco's pitch, and Lansbury admits it's rewarding to give something back to the game.
Adding: 'We've done Fulham, we've done Genk and we're in at Monaco soon.'
