Graham Potter has reportedly turned down an approach from the Swedish Football Assocation at they search for a successsor to outgoing head coach Janne Andersson.
The Swedish FA confirmed in October that Andersson would leave the role after the nation failed to qualify for Euro 2024 in Germany.
Andersson remained in charge for their final two qualifiers as a recruitment process began, with the head coach leaving the role with a 2-0 win over Estonia on Sunday.
Swedish FA secretary general Andrea Mollerberg confirmed last month that former Brighton and Chelsea boss Potter was among the names included on their shortlist.
According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Potter has declined the chance to be considered for the national team position.
Potter, 48, reportedly indicated that his preference is to return to club management.
He had previously enjoyed a successful spell in charge of Swedish side Ostersunds, serving as the club's manager from 2011 to 2018.
Potter caught the eye in leading Ostersunds to three promotions in five years and the Swedish Cup in 2017, with the club then embarking on a memorable run in the Europa League.
Ostersunds run was ended in the knock-out stage by Arsenal, despite the Swedish side earning a 2-1 win over the Gunners at the Emirates.
Potter moved to Swansea following his Ostersunds success, before an impressive spell in charge of Brighton.
He remains out of work following an ill-fated spell in charge of Chelsea, having been sacked in April after less than seven months in the post.
Reports in Sweden have suggested Per-Mathias Hogmo, the manager of Hacken, is a leading contender to succeed Andersson.
