Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that De Jong is of interest to Bayern Munich. However, he claims that his wages are currently an obstacle towards any potential deal.
"New rumours about Frenkie de Jong and FC Bayern: Bayern has never lost sight of him over the years! He would be one of the biggest solutions for the central midfield," he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"He's still on the list. They are keeping an eye on his situation at Barcelona. But even this topic is not hot right now. What mainly prevents a possible transfer is his extremely high net salary."
