Gorka Guruzeta has had to undergo surgery. The Athletic striker suffered an acute appendicitis that required surgery. The medical report issued by the club reveals that the surgery has been carried out in Bilbao and "has passed successfully".
The player will remain in hospital until he is medically discharged and he will begin a recovery period that usually lasts around four weeks in these cases.
The forward joins the list of absentees for next Saturday's game at San Mames against Osasuna, which already includes central defenders Yeray Alvarez and Aitor Paredes, who were both sent off last Friday in Getafe.
Ernesto Valverde, who will have to watch the game from one of the boxes at San Mames after seeing red in Getafe, will prepare for the clash against Osasuna with four training sessions. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's sessions will be in the morning.
