Everton have been hit with their second points deduction of the season - which has pulled the Blues closer to the relegation zone.
The Blues ended their winless run at the weekend with a victory over Burnley, courtesy of a goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin. However, the latest ruling has seen Sean Dyche's side drop down the table.
The club were previously docked 10 points by an independent panel, which was reduced to six on appeal, and were charged with a second breach of the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules in January. Everton have been deducted another two points as a result of the latest disciplinary process.

A statement outlined the club’s intentions to appeal the points deduction: “Everton remains committed to working collaboratively with the League on all matters relating to PSR but is extremely concerned by the inconsistency of different commissions in respect of points deductions applied.”
Being docked two points has seen Everton drop to 16th place on 27 points, two above the relegation zone. Brentford, on 29 points, have moved above Dyche’s side into 15th. Both Nottingham Forest and Luton Town are on 25 points, with the Hatters in the bottom three on goal difference.
Forest were deducted four points for a PSR breach in March, but they have also appealed the decision. However, that punishment caused the Toffees to question the clarity of the guidelines regarding PSR, as Forest’s breach was 77 percent larger than Everton's.
