Paddy Pimblett's eagerly anticipated return to the Octagon becomes a reality this weekend as he takes on Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.
The 28-year-old has been out for a over a year after nursing an ankle injury in his last victory over Jared Gordon at UFC 282, needing three surgeries to correct the issue. Following a successful 2022 in which the Liverpudlian won three fights, he will be hoping to extend his record to five consecutive victories since signing for the UFC in 2021.
But standing in his way is American Ferguson who has become a legend in the lightweight division during his 12-year career with the company. However, the 39-year-old comes into the clash off the back of six consecutive defeats, including losses to Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Nate Diaz.
The pair squared off on Thursday in the pre-fight press conference, with Pimblett insisting he is ready to "finish a legend's career" on Saturday evening. Fellow British fighter Leon Edwards headlines the card at the T-Mobile Arena, squaring off against Colby Covington for his UFC welterweight title.
