With the ever improving standard in the Irish Premiership, it doesn’t surprise me to see so many of our home-grown talent making the move across the water.
In the last six months, Terry Devlin transferred to Portsmouth and St Mirren snapped up Conor McMenamin, while earlier this year West Ham won the race to sign Cliftonville youngster Sean Moore and, prior to that, Kofi Balmer agreed a deal with Crystal Palace. Trai Hume, meanwhile, has been fantastic for Sunderland since his move from Linfield and has made a bright impact with Northern Ireland.
