Fair play, Forest - officials haven't been good enough
I was fascinated by the timing of Nottingham Forest's tweet after their defeat to Everton on Sunday.
The game had barely finished before they went on the offensive, suggesting the three penalty shouts they had turned down was because the VAR, Stuart Attwell, is a Luton Town fan.
I have been saying in this column for years: referees, linesmen and the officials in charge of VAR - they have all supported football clubs.
I have spoken to top officials in this country and they have all told me that same thing. It is only natural that some of them have followed clubs higher up the football pyramid and it is most certainly the case that they were all fans of teams when they were younger.
And look, what happened to Forest - where they were denied three reasonable penalty claims - that can go against any team, it is not just Nottingham Forest who have been affected by that, even though they have come out with the major statement on social media.

Whether they were penalties or not - and you can see a case either for or against with each one - having three in the same game like that is quite a lot. So to come out and say what they have said, they will get a punishment for that, no doubt.
It will be viewed by the PGMOL or the Football Association or Premier League that words like that, statements such as theirs, cannot be tolerated or allowed to go unpunished. It will be interesting to see what decisions they get off referees now going forward.
Might Forest now get the rub of the green for the next
