The Inter Miami coach was honest in his assessment following Inter Miami’s thumping 6-2 win over New York Red Bulls.

The legendary Argentine footballer completed the match with six goal involvements: 1 goal and 5 assists. Two other players who stood out in their contribution towards the victory were Suárez and Matías Rojas, but after the game, Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino chose to acknowledge the work of all his players.
Martino was keen to highlight that “in the first half we couldn’t find the passes between the lines. When we did find them, we didn’t turn forward to find the pass in another part of the field. We also couldn’t make progress on the outside because they were good with the wingers on both sides of the pitch”.
“In the second half there is a circumstance that is fundamental, which is the equalizer. That gave us peace of mind. Immediately after the second goal was scored, I think we found the game easier, we had a better circulation, and when we went backwards, I think we did well. It was a match in which we had to take certain risks because the opponent is very intense”, added the coach.
The offensive power of The Herons is evident and Tata mentioned this quality: “The truth is that we have many players with the ability to score goals, so it is clear that at some point in the match we will find favourable moments. The issue is how we get through the unfavourable moments and that doesn’t prevent us from always having to turn games around”.
