Arsenal will be hoping that Bukayo Saka will be available for this weekend's tough Premier League trip to Brighton & Hove Albion. The forward missed Wednesday night's win over Luton Town.
He came off in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City last weekend before being left out of the squad completely in mid-week. Wednesday night's game was only the second time he has missed a Premier League match, having sat out the reverse fixture in October.
«He was close but again he felt something in a very similar area against City and it was a very short turnaround,» Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said after the game. «Hopefully he’ll be able to train again and we can have him for the weekend.»
It seems to be a continuation of a minor muscular problem for the 22-year-old that saw him withdraw from the England squad during last month's international break.
On Friday, Arteta admitted his availability remains something of a mystery. Arsenal travel to the AMEX Stadium on Saturday before welcoming Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Champions League, meaning Saka's presence will be vital.
Arteta said: «We will know now, with our training session in a few hours. We will know whether he is fit or not.»
