John Terry in tears as Jose Mourinho sends him emotional Chelsea message

John Terry couldn't hold back the tears after receiving a heartfelt message from his former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, celebrating his induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

The Chelsea legend, 43, was honoured alongside former Manchester United and Newcastle striker Andy Cole in the prestigious Hall of Fame on Monday morning. Following the announcement, Terry was handed a mobile phone with a video message from Mourinho waiting for him.

In the message, Mourinho expressed his pride, saying: "Premier League Hall of Fame. John Terry. [It] has to be. And now it is.

«I believe that for your kids, it's something really fantastic. For me, as one of the guys that had the privilege to work with you for about six seasons, I'm very happy. I'm very proud.»

He continued to laud Terry's career, adding: «You deserve [it]. Your career was amazing. I'm so, so happy for you and so proud of this achievement.»

Overwhelmed by emotion, Terry responded: «Wow...that's quite emotional,» as he wiped away tears. He went on to express his gratitude towards Mourinho: «I think I owe him a huge amount for my career and the direction it went in.
