Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gus Poyet has warned Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho about moving to the Saudi Pro League - insisting the competition's exponential growth is "dangerous".
Fabinho was left out of Liverpool's 32-man squad that travelled to Germany for a pre-season training camp earlier this month after Saudi champions Al Ittihad lodged an offer in the region of £40m for the Brazilian.
Henderson, meanwhile, had been heavily linked with a move to Al Ettifaq shortly after Steven Gerrard's appointment as manager of the Damman-based side. After Henderson verbally agreed on a staggering weekly wage of £350,000, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp granted his captain permission to leave the Black Forest last Wednesday shortly after an initial £12m deal was agreed between the two clubs.

It is believed that Henderson underwent a medical in Manchester on Friday night, with an announcement likely later this week once the midfielder and Al Ettifaq have finalised the closing stages of the deal.
If both deals are concluded, the Liverpool duo will become the latest high-profile stars to make the move to the Saudi Pro League, following in the footsteps of Karim Benzema, N'golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Poyet, who was part of the infamous, short-lived Chinese Super League boom seven years ago when he accepted the manager's role at Shanghai Shenhua, has warned of the side effects of a league growing so quickly.
