Jude Bellingham’s Spanish appears to be coming along.
The Real Madrid superstar was filmed responding to a question from teammate Fede Valverde in his typically charming fashion.
Walking out for training at a drenched Valdebebas training ground, Uruguayan Valverde asked in Spanish: “Where are we, England or what?”
Quickly responding, Bellingham said: “Birmingham! Fede, in Birmingham!”
Getting the joke, Valverde replied: “Normal”, which got a grin from his new teammate.
Originally from Birmingham and progressing through Birmingham City’s youth team, Bellingham is now a certified football megastar at the age of just 20.
Having spent three seasons at Borussia Dortmund and almost winning the Bundesliga last season, the England international then moved to Spain in a deal worth up to £115million.
Despite never being relied upon for goal contributions previously in his career, Bellingham is currently LaLiga’s top goalscorer with eight efforts.
Adding in the Champions League, he has ten goals and three assists in his first ten games, with Madrid top of the table both domestically and in Europe thanks to their new Galactico.
Next up for Carlo Ancelotti’s side is a trip to struggling Sevilla, before Braga in the Champions League, and then a mammoth El Clasico tie with Barcelona on October 24.
