Jurgen Klopp explains decision to bench Mohamed Salah vs Fulham
Mohamed Salah has dropped to the bench for Liverpool’s Premier League clash at Fulham this afternoon.
The Egyptian has been replaced in the forward line by Diogo Jota, who makes his first start in more than two months at Craven Cottage having recently recovered from injury.

Jarell Quansah makes his first start since his mistake in the draw at Manchester United earlier this month, replacing Ibrahima Konate as centre-back partner to Virgil van Dijk. Alisson Becker continues in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back and Andy Robertson at left-back.
The midfield, though, has been completely overhauled, with Wataru Endo returned as the number six, Harvey Elliott playing on the right of the triumvirate against his former club, and Ryan Gravenberch making only his second start since being injured in the League Cup final on the left.
Jota is joined in the forward line by Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz, who both started the midweek Europa League win at Atatanta.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp said: He said: “We play three super important games in six days, I hate thinking about the game after the one in front of us but, in our situation, we cannot ignore the fact.
“We have to make changes to get fresh legs in, to use the squad. It’s the best situation we’ve had squad-wise all year, that’s why we do it.
“We need them all, they will either start or come on, that’s the situation and I don’t know what’s more important, to be honest, both are super important.
