It was straight down to work for the Arsenal players after arriving in Los Angeles for the third and final game of the USA pre-season tour against Barcelona.
Stationed at the LA Rams training facility, Mikel Arteta and his staff put the squad through their paces during an intensive training session on Monday, while as revealed by football.london, Folarin Balogun and Oleksandr Zinchenko did some work separately with the fitness coach.
There were also two special visitors in the shape of Arsenal owner Stan and his son Josh Kroenke. The pair were greeted by Arteta as they observed preparations for the new season which is fast approaching and here's what we spotted from the training pictures ahead of the big game at the SoFi Stadium.
Bib theory
It's very rare that Arteta gives anything away in training with regard to team selection. But he may have dropped a hint over keeping faith with the midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz against Barcelona. This is despite the experiment not quite going to plan over the weekend.
In truth, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Spaniard keeps the faith after insisting patience is required for his new-look midfield to click: «When they play 55 times together, it will be better, it will flow better, they will understand each other better and we will be more dominant,» he said in his post-match press conference. «But things take time to glide and we have to respect that. But I saw a lot of positive things, things I really like much more than the game that we won although the result is very different.»
