Kylian Mbappe sends Arsenal and Chelsea transfer update as eye-watering contract demand revealed
Kylian Mbappe remained coy when he was asked about his future at Paris Saint-Germain during the international break. The 24-year-old striker faces an increasingly uncertain future in the French capital, with his contract at Les Parc des Princes set to expire at the end of the season.
In the summer, Nasser Al-Khelaifi announced that Mbappe has two-weeks to sign a new deal with the Parisians otherwise he would be sold. Fast forward a couple of months and the France international still hasn't committed his long-term future to PSG, nor has he been offloaded.
As it stands, foreign clubs will be eligible to begin pre-contract talks with Mbappe over a free transfer at the end of the season from January unless he suddenly signs an extension. If the Frenchman decides against penning a new contract then PSG must decide whether they'd rather risk losing him for free in the summer or cut their losses and cash-in in the winter transfer window.
With Mbappe keeping his options open, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid have been mooted as a potential destination. In an interview with French publication Telefoot, as quoted by GFNF, he remained tight-lipped on his future.
«It’s something I don’t want to talk about,» said Mbappe. «Especially since I already did it in June and it took up a big part of the international break. I want us to talk more about the national team, rather than me talking about something that will be resolved one day, so there will be time to talk about that.»
