Kylian Mbappe has given Arsenal a huge boost to their hopes of signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid this summer. The Paris Saint-Germain star faces an increasingly uncertain future in the French capital, with his contract at Les Parc des Princes set to expire at the end of the season.
Since the start of the new year, clubs have been eligible to begin pre-contract talks with Mbappe over a free transfer upon the expiration of his deal. After choosing not to sell the France international in January, the Parisians are now in a race against time to extend his contract otherwise they will lose out on millions in potential transfer fees.
With the striker yet to pen an extension, the Santiago Bernabeu has been mooted as a potential destination. Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos for a while now, and he finally looks set to complete his dream move.
While Real would be getting their hands on one of the best players in the world, the Frenchman's arrival could spell the exit of Rodrygo. According to Spanish publication Sport, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the Brazilian, who's aware that his future is 'up in the air'.
The report states that despite interest from the Premier League, Real view Rodrygo as 'non-transferable'. Sport add that the 23-year-old winger, who has a one billion euro release clause, remains focused on further establishing himself as a key player in Carlo Ancelotti's starting lineup.
Rodrygo has already featured 41 times for the Spanish giants this season, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists. His impressive performances have fired Real Madrid to the top of La Liga and guided them to the Champions League quarterfinals.
