The fixtures continue to come thick and fast for Arsenal. After playing five games in 13 days, the Gunners kickstart a busy October with a trip to Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens in the UEFA Champions League.
Mikel Arteta's men will look to earn back-to-back victories in the European competition on Tuesday evening following the 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven last month. The north Londoners are expected to progress from the group stage having been handed a kind draw, but the visit to France will provide its challenges.
After starting the season with four losses in their opening five games, Franck Haise's men have gone unbeaten in their previous three. The French side drew their opening game of the group stage at Sevilla and will be looking to provide an upset at the Estadio Bollaert-Delelis.
Going into the fixture, Arsenal will be sweating over the fitness of a number of players. Having been without the likes of Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Declan Rice for the Carabao Cup win over Brentford last week, the trio returned in the 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Saturday.
However, there was reason for concern regarding Saka after the England international was forced off at the Vitality Stadium. Fortunately for the north Londoners, he was spotted in Monday morning's training session at London Colney.
«I don't [know] yet as I haven't had a chance to speak to him,» Arteta said after the win at the weekend. «I think it was a stamp in the same area but Gabi was limping as well after the game so let's see how they are.»
