Chelsea have just three games of the 2023/24 season remaining, with the next fixture this Saturday against Nottingham Forest.
Fresh off the back of a 5-0 win over West Ham United, the Blues now have their eyes set on qualifying for Europe. Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit seventh in the Premier League, which may be enough to qualify for next season's Europa Conference League, should Manchester City win the FA Cup.
It's possible Chelsea finish fifth or sixth, however, although they would probably have to win their remaining games against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth. «I don't want to say nothing because from the beginning of the season I said the objective always is to win because we are Chelsea but that created too much pressure. The team is now going to be focusing to rest tomorrow and Tuesday prepare for the game on Saturday,» Pochettino said after the win over West Ham.
«The objective for us is to be mature and to keep the momentum and to compete, improving in every single game. We are going to try to be in Europe. It's going to be good for the team and the players to be in Europe next season.»
Ahead of Saturday's fixture at the City Ground, the Chelsea squad has been hard at work at Cobham on the training pitches. Here's what football.london spotted in the latest batch of training pictures released on the official Chelsea website.
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has not played for the Blues since the 2-2 draw at Brentford at the beginning of March. The 21-year-old has been nursing a toe injury but returned to the squad on Sunday for the game against West Ham.
