Phillips is likely to push for a move away from Manchester City after failing to convince Pep Guardiola he is worthy of a run in the first-team.

Fulham are also eyeing the England midfielder as a potential replacement for Bayern Munich target Joao Palhinha.

Signed from boyhood side Leeds in the summer of 2022 for £42million, Phillips penned a six-year deal, but has spent a portion of his debut season out with a shoulder injury which required surgery.
Despite his game time being blocked by new signings Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes at club level, Phillips is still an England regular and may be looking for more minutes ahead of Euro 2024.
Linked with Bayern Munich for much of last summer as the German side desperately sought a defensive midfielder, the Bavarians aren't the only ones struggling in that department.
