Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted Mikel Arteta's decision to play both Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard in similar roles made Arsenal a difficult opponent to prepare for.

The Gunners currently find themselves in a rut having won just once in seven matches in all competitions. For the most part on Sunday, Arteta's men played well but were frustrated by the crossbar and sloppy finishing.

But in his post-match press conference, Klopp explained how a couple of tactical tweaks were giving him a headache in the first half.

He told reporters: «It is difficult to prepare for what Arsenal did tonight, especially in the first half. Havertz and Odegaard, more or less as double 10s. A 4-2-2-2.»

On another day, Arsenal may have broken down a staunch Liverpool defence so it will be interesting to see whether Arteta sticks with this tactical decision in games to come. After the winter break, the Gunners will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they host Crystal Palace at the Emirates before another weekend off due to the FA Cup fourth round.
