He was almost caught in possession following pressure from Newcastle's forward-line and after they avoided going behind, Ederson was once again down receiving treatment. He was subsequently replaced by Stefan Ortega with the Brazi international suffering with an issue with his left leg.
It is unknown how long Ederson will be sidelined for but doubts are now cast over his involvement in City's upcoming run. The Citizens face Burnley, Brentford, Everton and Chelsea in their next four.
