Luis Diaz Snr was welcomed by gleeful Liverpool supporters after watching his son win the Carabao Cup on Sunday afternoon against Chelsea.
The Reds winger's father has regularly been following his son's team since overcoming a harrowing ordeal in 2023. Back in October, Diaz Snr and his wife Clienis Marulanda were attacked by armed men on motorcycles in Columbia.
While Mrs Marulanda was found shaken shortly after the incident, Diaz Snr was kidnapped sparking a huge search and rescue mission. On November 9, the Columbian winger's father was found safe and in good health before being reunited with his family.

What Diaz's father did to celebrate Luton goal
Before the Christmas period, Diaz's father travelled to England for the first time since the ordeal and was in the stands to watch the Reds face Arsenal in the Premier League. He was then back in the crowd this Sunday as the Reds played out a tense Carabao Cup final with Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Virgil van Dijk stole the back page headlines as he scored the all-important winner in the latter stages of extra-time as the Reds secured their first trophy of Jurgen Klopp's farewell campaign. After the match, a delighted Diaz Snr joined fans on the train back north and joined in with some celebratory drinks.
Sharing a picture on X, Loren Wahedi posted: "Just sharing our Daiquiris with Luis Diaz’s dad wby [what about you]?" Diaz Snr, his son, Klopp and the rest of the Liverpool supporters will be hoping this will not be the last opportunity to celebrate this season.
The Reds remain in the FA Cup and Europa League and currently lead the way in the Premier League by one point as we enter the run-in.
