Luis Enrique is ready for anything. Always with a bit of a touch of sarcasm, but with a lot of skill, he goes through the press conferences until he finds the answers that he himself wants to give. And to do so, he blends in with the country he is in.
With the confidence that comes from being in the semi-finals of the Champions League, the Spanish coach used a saying, "les chiens aboient, la caravane passe - the dogs bark, the caravan passes - to talk about the criticism he has received and how the team - the caravan - has survived to the point of having the treble within their reach.
"It's not that I read little of the press, it's that I read zero of it. I've been a coach for more than 10 years. I've been attacked, vilified, ignored or criticised. It's not a problem, I like it," he said at the press conference ahead of Sunday's clash against Olympique Lyon.
"We are a month and a half away from the end of all the competitions" and now "we are very well placed in all of them and with the possibility of winning all the titles", said the Spanish coach.
Asked if, in the event of qualifying for the final of the Champions League, he would prefer Real Madrid or Bayern Munich as opponents, he simply reminded us that "first we need to eliminate (in the semi-final) the team that finished top of our group", he told reporters.
That Champions League group "was the group of death", he recalled, before insisting that Dortmund "have the same enthusiasm as us" to reach the final.
