Magesi FC moved six points clear at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with a 2-0 win over Platinum City Rovers on Wednesday afternoon.
A stunning strike from Mcedi Vandala gave the league leaders the front foot earlier in on and ultimately went in to the break with the advantage.
The dominance continued for the promotion-chasing host who extended the lead shortly after the interval through a cool finish from Abbey Seseane and saw the clash to a close.
University of Pretoria 1-1 JDR Stars
University of Pretoria lost further ground with Magesi FC following a 1-1 draw with JDR Stars in the Tshwane derby.
After no goals in the opening period, the resumption got off in decent stakes and saw the host go ahead courtesy of a scrambled effort by Malekgene Mampuru.
The Hammerboys didn’t go down without a fight, but were able to bounce back very swiftly to claim a point and dent the home side’s promotion hopes.
Milford Stallions 4-3 Casric Stars
Milford Stallions bounced back from a two-goal deficit to overcome Casric Stars 4-3 and continued to dent the visitors play-off aspirations.
On-loan Kaizer Chiefs man Lebohang Lesako put the visitors ahead after seven minutes, but it was cancelled five minutes later by the counterparts.
Stars did though regain the advantage eight minutes before halftime through a decent finish from Tlotlo Leepile after Milford went to sleep at the back.
The visitors extended the lead in the second half from a spot-kick by Nyembe, but a dramatic turnaround by Milford saw them come from the cusp of defeat to claim all the points.
NB La Masia 2-1 Pretoria Callies
NB La Masia brushed off a 12-match winless run and edged out Pretoria Callies 2-1 to cement 13th spot and
