Manchester City players returned to training on Wednesday after two days off following their win at Nottingham Forest.
City have a welcome midweek without a fixture - although Pep Guardiola said he would have preferred to have been in the Champions League semi-finals - so have taken the opportunity to give their squad some brief time off. Some players opted to depart England for a short trip away, with Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic among the players taking that opportunity.
At Forest, City were without Phil Foden and Ruben Dias, who both missed the trip to Nottingham through illness. Guardiola had said of Foden: "He is not ready. He is ill. He didn’t feel good, discomfort today and he is back to Manchester. It is what it is. It is a long season, they always happen these kind of things."

In positive news, both Foden and Dias were pictured back in training on Wednesday as the squad returned, presumably making themselves available for Saturday's home clash with Wolves at the Etihad. Dias posted a picture of himself returning to the training ground captioned: "Back with the team."
In total, 22 players were training on Wednesday, including youth team players Nico O'Reilly, Micah Hamilton and Josh Adam. In a group picture to celebrate City's qualification for next season's Champions League, goalkeeper Ederson was present with the group after picking up an injury at Forest.
