Manchester United have been handed a huge boost to their hopes of signing Crystal Palace sensation Michael Olise.
The Red Devils are admirers of the French winger - with Sir Jim Ratcliffe thought to be spearheading their interest. A deal will not be cheap, however.
Palace have reportedly put a £60m price tag on both him and teammate Eberechi Eze, which could leave United in a difficult position regarding their Financial Fair Play concerns. However, former Eagles owner Simon Jordan believes Olise could push for a move to Old Trafford should the Red Devils come calling.
“The challenge he [Glasner] has got, of course, is that everyone is going to be looking at Olise and [Ebere] Eze and that is a big challenge for Palace," he said on talkSPORT. "If they lose them, who do they replace them with?"
“What would I do? I think you’re probably in a situation where Michael Olise signed a new contract last year predominantly to protect Palace’s value in the next set of negotiations. And Eze, I think, you’re not going to be able to hold him back.
“So what would I do? I would want to wring every single last penny out of the purchasers to get the value for Palace. If someone like West Ham came knocking on my door, they can sling their hook. The player won’t have that enormous, head-turning moment.
“But if Man United come, or Liverpool or Arsenal come, the player forms part of the problem because he then goes; ‘Well, I love it here but I want to go to this bigger football club. Now, I want to go.”
Olise has long been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park. The 22-year-old almost moved to Chelsea after the Blues activated his release clause but he decided to sign a new deal instead.
