Adrien Rabiot's mum has confirmed the player is on "excellent terms" with Manchester United - reigniting transfer rumours.
United tried to sign Rabiot, 28, from Juventus during the summer of 2022 after the two European giants agreed a transfer fee. Yet the France international rejected a move to Old Trafford, forcing Erik ten Hag to swoop for Casemiro in a £70million deal instead.
Despite the snub, Rabiot continues to be linked with the Red Devils. The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has just under eight months remaining on his contract with Juventus and it's unclear whether he will sign a new deal with the Serie A outfit.
Rabiot's most recent contract extension, a 12-month deal, was signed in June - just days before he was due to become a free agent. It was claimed at the time that United also offered him a contract but the deal collapsed over an eight-figure agent fee.
Rabiot's mum Veronique also acts as his agent. Rumours suggested Veronique wanted a €10m (£8.7m) commission from United to approve the deal. She's now denied those reports in an interview with Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, describing them as "false".
Veronique added: "United wanted to meet me to illustrate their interest in Adrien, but we never talked about money in detail because he quickly decided to stay in Turin. There were never any real negotiations, and we are on excellent terms with Manchester United."
Rabiot's chance to join United may have passed. The Frenchman, who's won 40 senior caps for his country, will be 29 next summer and has already played more than 400 club games. United's recruitment team may want to sign a younger midfielder.
But if they want an experienced head, Rabiot could be their man. He's won more than 20 trophies
