Manchester United Academy chief sends message to four players following departures
Manchester United academy director Nick Cox says the club will keep a close eye on the progress of Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Laird, Charlie Savage and Anthony Elanga after the quartet departed Old Trafford.
Iqbal was the firs to leave when he joined Eredivisie side FC Utrecht. He was closely followed out of the door by Laird who, after his loan spell at QPR ended, joined Birmingham City on a permanent deal.
Midfielder Savage spent time on loan last season with Forest Green Rovers and it was this stint which earned him a switch to League One side Reading. And on Tuesday the most senior player to leave for a fee this window, Elanga, signed for Nottingham Forest for £15m.

While this brings an end to the quartet's time at United, Cox said the players, as well as others who have moved on from the Reds, will be monitored. He wrote on Twitter: "Youth development is about helping everyone to reach their full potential no matter where it takes them.
"These boys (and others) can be proud of their achievements at United. Exciting times ahead - we will follow their progress with interest! Good luck from everyone at Manchester United Academy."
Manager Erik ten Hag is still open to allowing more players to leave the club this summer as he aims to continue his rebuild.
MEN Sport understands United are open to selling midfielder Scott McTominay. West Ham are understood to be interested in the Scottish international but they would need to bid £40m to secure his services.
