Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck said that Jordan Henderson's farewell message to Liverpool fans 'even brought a tear to a Manc' after his move to Al-Ettifaq was confirmed.
Henderson's move to the Saudi Pro League was confirmed on Thursday and the midfielder will join up with Steven Gerrard at his new club. The 33-year-old accepted a £700,000-per-week offer, with Liverpool expected to receive £12million for their captain.
The England international shared a farewell message on Instagram and received hundreds of messages from fans and former teammates.

One of which was a former Three Lions striker Welbeck, who wrote: "Incredible bro. Even brought a tear to a Manc.”
Welbeck and Henderson travelled to three major tournaments together with England between 2012 and 2018, including the World Cup semi-finals in that final year.
It remains to be seen whether Henderson will remain a vital part of Gareth Southgate's squad but he is the latest high-profile player to head to the Middle East. This summer, Saudi clubs have signed the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Roberto Firmino.
The former Liverpool captain has come in for criticism after moving to a country in which homosexuality is illegal, following his extensive work and support with the LGBTQIA+ community in recent years.
The transfer window is in full swing and United have already got their hands on two players, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door at Old Trafford
