Manchester United's form over the last few months has arguably proven Gary Neville wrong with his previous assessment.
United are fighting to finish in the top six in the Premier League this season in the final weeks of the campaign. A quest to secure Champions League football is looking increasingly unlikely with the top four impossible and the fifth-place spot through UEFA's coefficients not in England's favour compared to the rest of Europe.
As a result, United's main hope for success this season is in the FA Cup where they will face Manchester City in the final at Wembley Stadium later this month. It was only a little over four months ago that Neville expressed his concern for United's style of play.
After United were held to a goalless draw with Liverpool on December 17, Neville was critical of Erik ten Hag's tactics at Anfield. The Reds legend compared Ten Hag's tactics to what was used during Jose Mourinho's spell as manager, a style which has been referred to as parking the bus.
"It's a good result because it's a draw at Anfield and you can never dismiss a draw at Anfield, but that's not a performance," Neville told Sky Sports in December after United's draw at Anfield.

"We killed [Jose] Mourinho a few years ago for coming here and playing like that and getting a 0-0. So I think the fact they've been a bit more resilient defensively is good and the fact they've kept a clean sheet is good, but in terms of level of performance that will win you football matches, no, it's well off it.
