Manchester United were set to head into the international break having lost their last three matches before Erik ten Hag summoned Scott McTominay from the bench in the 87th minute against Brentford.
The Reds trailed the Bees 1-0 thanks to Mathias Jensen's first-half strike, with Andre Onana once again coming in for criticism for his part in the goal. But it was McTominay to the rescue as the academy graduate scored two goals in added time to secure all three points for the home side.
Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans started at centre-back for United, with club sources telling MEN Sport prior to kick-off that Raphael Varane had suffered a minor knock and so was not available for selection.
There was more defensive concern when Victor Lindelof trudged down the tunnel after seemingly picking up a knock mid-game. United will be hoping he hasn't picked up an injury and they now have the international break to hopefully welcome back some of their injured stars.
