Frustrated by his lack of consistency, Olympique de Marseille are open to selling Azzedine Ounahi (24) at the end of the season, according to L’Équipe.
After shining in the Qatar World Cup at the end of 2022, Ounahi earned a move from SCO Angers to Marseille in January 2023. However, he has failed to assert himself at the Ligue 1 giants. Suffering from multiple niggles and also having to adapt to a new environment, concessions were made for Ounahi last season, however, he was expected to have more of an impact in the current campaign. That has not proven to be the case.
Since Jean-Louis Gasset’s arrival, Ounahi has started just three out of the eight games; it’s a meagre total, especially when considering the number of injuries in this sector for Marseille. Ounahi was the subject of an approach from Saudi Arabia in January 2024 and the Moroccan international often thinks about this opportunity.
With Marseille now open to selling Ounahi and with Saudi Arabian clubs, notably Al-Hilal, still likely interested in the midfielder, a move to the Gulf State remains a possibility this summer.
