The long wait is finally over for Panama.
The Central American nation scored its first-ever Women's WorldCup goal on Wednesday, with midfielder Marta Cox notching the historic strike in the second minute of their match against France.
Cox's goal was a thing of beauty, curling her free kick into the top corner from 30 yards out to give Panama a shock 1-0 lead over the European powerhouse.

Maelle Lakrar equalised for France in the 21st minute after her goal-bound header was diverted by Panama's Deysire Salazar into the back of her own net.
France then took a 2-1 lead in the 28th minute with Kadidiatou Diani scoring the goal. The Frenchwomen doubled their lead in the 37th minute via a Diani penalty after Yomira Pinzon was ruled to have touched the ball with her arm inside the box.
France made it 4-1 in first-half injury time with Lea le Garrec's cross finding the back of the net, per The Guardian.
