Memphis out with muscle injury against Borussia Dortmund
The Champions League is already in the air and this Tuesday the first leg of the quarter-finals of the competition kicks off. Atletico Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, a match where Cholo Simeone will have to deal with a last minute setback.
Memphis Depay, as confirmed by tests, will be out for the game after suffering muscular discomfort in his left leg. On Monday morning, the Dutch striker was absent from the session and in the afternoon a new injury was confirmed for the striker, who has missed most of the matches this season due to physical problems.
Simeone loses an important player for a vital clash, as it was the '9' who got us through to this round, equalising with his goal in the round of 16 tie against Inter Milan. However, it's not all bad news for the 'rojiblancos'.
Thomas Lemar, who has been out for around seven months after rupturing his Achilles tendon in the game against Valencia back in September, is in the final stages of recovery. However, it doesn't look like the Frenchman will make the squad in the end. Neither will Mario Hermoso, who is already trying to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
