Michael McIntyre health update ahead of Liverpool show after March gigs cancelled

Michael McIntyre has issued an update after cancelling shows on his world tour due to an illness.

The comedian was forced to cancel shows on the MACNIFICENT stand-up tour in March due to having kidney stones. Speaking to the ECHO, he has confirmed he's feeling much better ahead of his gig in Liverpool this week.

He said: "I’m fully recovered from my kidney stone operation and do go into graphic detail about my experience in the show - so if you’re coming, brace yourself." Michael will take to the stage at the M&S Bank Arena on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.

Speaking about coming to Liverpool, he said: "I’ve always loved performing in Liverpool and it seems to be becoming a bit of the comedy capital at the moment with incredibly successful comedy clubs that people are loving. I can’t wait to get up there this weekend."

Michael added: "I’ll always try to open a show with local material if I can. It's annoying though when I have a long run in a city and end up with loads of jokes that only really work there. I did a week in Plymouth recently and ended up with a great routine about driving in Devon, but that won’t be remotely funny in Liverpool unfortunately. "
